Steve owned and operated Dakin Ag Equipment Inc. for 42 years. Dakin Ag received numerous top dealer awards. In 2017, Steve sold his company to become a full-time volunteer. He has served as Rotary District 6000 Governor and is currently the District Foundation Chair. Since 2017, he has taught leadership to Iowa high school kids. He also serves on the board of Boone Co Hospital.
Steve lost his son, Josh. Josh was active in FFA, so in his memory Steve joined the Iowa FFA Foundation and helped design and build the FFA Enrichment Center on DMACC campus in Ankeny.
Steve and wife Lesley share three children and two grandchildren.
