What we will offer
Many families have medically fragile children that need 24/7 care and kids who need hospice care. Our goal is to provide a loving, "home away from home" while giving professional nursing care. We want these children and their families to make as many memories as possible when they stay with us.
We plan to provide 3 pediatric (ages 0-21) hospice suites each one connecting to a family suite. We do not want families separated during the most difficult time they endure. We want to make their transition as peaceful and loving as possible. We want to help families make as many memories, to cherish forever, while they stay with us.
We also plan to provide 4 Respite rooms for medically fragile kids who need 24 hour care. We want to give the family a break that is well deserved. We don't want them to worry about their child while they need to be away for work trips, a recharge, or take the rest of the family to do something that is impossible to do with their child that needs more care. We want to see their family thriving in every way possible and sometimes, help (by skilled care givers and nurses) is what they need. Our staff and volunteers have medically fragile children's best interest at heart and will make them feel special and like they are on a vacation themselves.
We plan to offer an array of helpful experiences and integrative therapies while children stay here. These will include pet therapy, music therapy, creative arts, spiritual therapy, massage / healing touch therapy, sound therapy, aquatic therapy, grief support, and memorial gatherings. All of these things will add a layer of enjoyment and excitement at Mason's Light House.
Shared spaces will include kitchen, dining area, great room, sensory room / play area, music recording / media room, hydrotherapy room, craft room, and a serenity room. Although these will be shared spaces, each child and their family can have their own private time in these areas.
All of this will be free of charge to medically fragile children and their families.
