My name is Abby Edmonds, I am a Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Nurse Practitioner at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. I am deeply passionate about caring for children and their families through some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
My calling is to walk alongside patients and families during their cancer journey — providing not only medical expertise, but also hope, comfort, and strength when it’s needed most. Every child’s courage and resilience inspire me daily, and I strive to make a difference through compassionate, family-centered care.
I am a strong advocate for Mason’s Light House, as hospice and respite care is not about giving up — it’s about giving more: more time together, more comfort, and more compassion. It’s an extension of the same mission that drives me every day — to care for children and families through every chapter of their journey, with dignity, empathy, and hope.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband Jarred and 4 year old son Kohen! We love attending sporting events, traveling, boating and being with our friends!
